If you’re looking for a chiropractor near Borough Park, Brooklyn Spine Center is at 1514 60th St, Suite 308, close to the N train at New Utrecht Ave and the D train at 62 St. I’ve cared for families in this part of Brooklyn since 1981. Your first visit is a full evaluation with no treatment, and your care plan is explained on your second visit.
How to find our office
We’re on 60th Street in a light-brick building shared with other businesses. Look for Suite 308 when you arrive.
- By subway: Take the N to New Utrecht Ave or the D to 62 St.
- By car: Street parking is available in the neighborhood.
- From Staten Island: Some of our patients drive in over the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
You’ll find a map and directions on our contact page. If you’d like to see the space before you come in, take a look at our office.
Office hours that fit Brooklyn schedules
Many of our patients work long days, commute by train, or care for family. That’s why we keep early morning and evening hours on most weekdays, plus a short Sunday morning window.
- Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 8am to 7pm
- Tuesday: 8am to 5pm
- Friday: 8am to 1pm
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: 8am to 10am
If your mornings are packed, an evening appointment on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday may be easier. If weekdays are hard, Sunday morning can work too.
The neighborhoods we serve
Borough Park is home base, but patients come to us from Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, Kensington, Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Midwood, and Gravesend. Some travel in from Staten Island and other boroughs. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for some families across four and five generations.
Living here shapes the problems we see. Walk-up apartments and subway stairs put steady demands on your knees and lower back. Long commutes and desk work can leave your neck stiff by the end of the week.
If that sounds familiar, you may find our posts on knee pain that won’t go away and desk-related neck pain helpful.
What we help with
Most of our patients come in with spine and disc pain, including herniated discs, sciatica, and spinal stenosis. We also care for people dealing with neuropathy, joint pain, and stiffness that keeps coming back.
Four doctors work here, each with different techniques and backgrounds, so your care isn’t limited to one approach. We also have in-house physical therapy and specialty equipment many offices don’t, including the DRX9000 for non-surgical spinal decompression.
Your chiropractic care is chosen based on your exam, not a one-size-fits-all routine. Some patients do best with gentle, non-force methods. Others respond well to manual adjusting or instrument-based care with the Pro Adjuster.
Meet the doctors you’ll see
Having four doctors under one roof means we can match your care to the approach that suits you best. Each of us brings a different background, and we talk through complex cases together.
Dr. Stephanie Raymonvil was born and raised in New York City and has practiced since 2013. Her background in exercise physiology shapes her focus on preventive, whole-body health. Dr. Fran Sarullo has practiced since 1985 and uses diversified and direct non-force techniques, adapted to each patient’s comfort.
Dr. Marilyn Appelbaum, who has practiced since 1982, serves as our chiropractic consultant. She consults on patient cases and contributes to clinical oversight, which adds another experienced set of eyes on complex situations.
What your first two visits look like
We don’t treat anyone on the first visit. That may surprise you, but it’s on purpose. Understanding what’s driving your pain comes before any recommendation, even when a case looks simple.
Visit one: getting the full picture
We start with a conversation about your history, your symptoms, and what you’ve already tried. Then we do a physical and neurological exam. Imaging is ordered only when it adds real diagnostic value, not as a routine step.
Before you leave, we review what we’ve learned so far. You won’t be left guessing about what comes next.
Visit two: your findings and your plan
On your second visit, we walk you through what we found and what we recommend. Your plan follows our four-milestone approach, so you’ll know what each phase is for and how we’ll measure progress.
We talk through costs before care begins, and you’ll have time to ask questions. Your first treatment usually happens at this visit.
Want more detail? Read what to expect at your first visit, or check costs and insurance before you come in.
What to bring to your first visit
A little preparation helps us make the most of your time. If you can, bring:
- Your insurance card, so we can confirm your benefits
- Any MRI, X-ray, or specialist reports you already have
- A list of your current medications
- Your completed new patient paperwork, available through our new patient page
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, since the exam includes some simple movement and strength checks. And bring your questions. There’s no such thing as a silly one here.
Why neighbors have trusted us since 1981
I’ve always thought of chiropractic as a calling, not a career. That’s part of why we take the time to listen and explain. Patients should leave every visit understanding what we’re doing and why.
We were voted Best of Brooklyn five years in a row, and I was named one of the Top Ten Chiropractors in America in 2005. Recognition is nice, but the families who keep coming back mean more.
We’re also honest about fit. If your situation calls for a physician, a specialist, or surgery, we’ll tell you. You can learn more about my background and training.
Questions about Visiting Our Office
Do I need a referral or an MRI?
No referral is needed. You don’t need an MRI either, but if you already have imaging or reports, bring them to your first visit.
Are you open on weekends?
We’re open Sunday from 8am to 10am and closed on Saturday.
I’ve tried chiropractic before and it didn’t last. Is this different?
Many of our patients have already tried chiropractic, physical therapy, or injections. We look for what’s driving the problem and layer care in a set order, with strengthening to help keep it from coming back.
